Girl Scouts, STEAM Badges & a Very Well-Earned Cookie

May 16, 2026 | Events

On May 16th, ComputerXplorers had the pleasure of joining the Girl Scouts at STEAMapolooza, land it was everything a STEAM showcase should be: loud, lively, and genuinely inspiring.

Organised by the Girl Scouts themselves, STEAMapolooza brought together young girls eager to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and maths in a fun, hands-on environment. Our team set up an interactive station that sat right at the heart of that mission, giving Scouts the chance to get stuck in with real technology from the moment they arrived.

The activities were designed to be fast, fun, and accessible. Scouts tested their reaction speed with micro:bits, dove into quick hands-on challenges, and played a game built in our Game Design platform that took on the Boy Scouts. We also had a delicious Girl Scout cookie waiting for those who rose to the challenge. Spoiler: most of them did.

But beyond the games and the cookies, what stood out was the genuine excitement around earning STEAM-related badges. Watching young girls step up to a coding challenge, figure it out, and walk away with that badge meant something. It wasn't just about the activity, it was about confidence. About proving to themselves that technology is something they can do.

That's the heart of what ComputerXplorers brings to every event. We don't just show up with equipment, we create moments that shift how children see themselves in relation to technology.

We're proud to have been part of STEAMapolooza and look forward to continuing to support the Girl Scouts community across South Florida.
