ComputerXplorers at Code/Art: Where Coding Meets Creativity

April 2026 | Events

This April, ComputerXplorers took to the floor at Code/Art, an event dedicated to building awareness of STEM among girls and to showcase what happens when technology and creativity collide. The energy in the room was something else!

We arrived with our coding robots, micro:bits, and our photo studio setup that brings coding and art to life in a way that genuinely surprises people. The concept is simple but powerful: give a girl a robot with drawing capabilities, let her write the code, and watch her face when it starts creating art right in front of her. That moment of realisation, that this is her creation, is exactly what ComputerXplorers is all about.

Throughout the event, attendees got hands-on. Some were first-timers who'd never touched a micro:bit before. Others were budding coders ready to take control and test the boundaries. Every single one of them found something that sparked their curiosity and kept them coming back for more.

What made Code/Art such a natural fit for us is the shared belief that coding isn't just a technical skill, it's a creative one. When girls discover they can use code to draw, design, and express themselves, it completely changes how they see technology. It stops being something intimidating and starts being something that belongs to them, that they can harness to bring ideas to life.

Closing the gender gap in STEM starts with moments like these, where curiosity is celebrated, creativity is the entry point, and every girl leaves feeling capable and inspired.

Check out the photos on our Instagram, the smiles really do say it all.
